Constitution
Amended May 29, 2009
Article I.
Section I. The
name of this organization will be The Princess Anne High School Teens in
Prayer Club
Section II. The
purpose of this organization will be to allow students to come together
in prayer and fellowship. Members will be able to unite in prayer to
help each other get through the good and bad times that they may come
across in their life, based on the Judeo-Christian set of ethics and
beliefs.
Article II.
Section I.
Membership is open to all students who are interested in becoming closer
to God, making friends, and creating peace and harmony among all
students despite diversities.
Section II. All
donations will be completely voluntary and will go toward a charitable
cause.
Article III.
Section I. The
officers of this organization shall be the Faculty Sponsor, President,
Vice President, Secretary, Historian, and Public Relations. The duties
of each are as follows:

Faculty
Sponsor: The faculty sponsor is the club’s liaison to the school and
its administration. Any decision made by the club can be vetoed by the
Faculty Sponsor if it is prohibited by the school’s administration.

President:
Must preside over meetings and assigns tasks to other officers as
needed. He/she must also communicate the club’s plans with the sponsor.
·
Vice
President: Must handle documents, record attendance, and maintain the
club binder.
·
Secretary:
Must take and type minutes for binder and prayer requests. He/she must
also handle funds, keep a record of money in the account, and give a
report as needed to the officers and members.
·
Historian:
Must document the meetings with photographs and produce a scrapbook or
video/slideshow at the end of the year.
·
Public
Relations: Must design and copy flyers and recruit new members. He/she
must also create lists for members to sign up for refreshments and
contact them as a reminder.
Section II. Every
officer must be in good standing in school and in the community. He or
she must have at least a 2.0 grade point average or else be put on
probation for one quarter. Every officer must also have regular
attendance at meetings.
Section III.
Officers not fulfilling the requirements above may be removed by a
two-thirds vote of present members at a regular meeting.
Section IV.
Vacancies shall be filled by the officers’ choice of replacement, with
approval of the majority of present members at a regular meeting.
Section V.
i. Candidates running
for office shall be elected by the officers and members. The candidate
will need an application with two teacher recommendations as well as be
in good standing with the school and community and having a 2.0 grade
point average.
ii. In the event that
there are no applications for a single office, candidates may be
nominated for that office the day of elections without an application or
teacher recommendations.
Section VI. The
election of officers shall take place at the second to last meeting of
the school year.
Section VII. The new
officers will begin their duties the last meeting of the ending of the
school year.
Article IV.
Section I.
Meetings will be held on the first and third Friday of each month at
2:30 PM. Meetings will be postponed or cancelled as necessary by
decision of the officers.
Section II.
Meetings will be carried on no matter the number of members or officers
present.

Article V.
Section I.
Amendments to this Constitution may be proposed by the decision of the
club officers and approved by the majority of present members at any
regular meeting.
Section II.
Amendments may also be proposed by any member of the club. Another
member must second his or her motion, and the majority of present
members at any regular meeting must approve the amendment.
Section III. Any amendments will take effect
immediately. |
